Delphy's Sims 3 Pack Multi-Extracter (Updated 5th Sept 2009). - Added back in Clean Names, but with disclaimer - it only works on Sims 3 Packs with one package in them. Or don't use the multi-pack installer and use something else to make the.program file? I did try using the 3d Viewer and then CTU, but that messed up the mesh. What I'm saying is, I removed The Sims 2 Clean Pack Installer weeks ago, and I tried to reinstall it and it says have a previous version of the installer already, but I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I can't install the one on my desktop because of it.
Since there is no for Mac, how the heck am I going to get those sims2pack files to install? I have uni and nightlife, and I always get the 'This content requires Expansion Pack data that is not installed' error when trying to open sims2pack files with Package Installer. I've downloaded some wonderful full sims from here but am unable to install them into my game. The content you are trying to download may have content from OFB or Pets, and maybe that's why you can't install. Because you don't have that expansion pack.
The content you are trying to download may have content from OFB or Pets, and maybe that's why you can't install. Because you don't have that expansion pack. I have the same problem as Mantra does.
I have both nightlife and uni, and have downloaded a sim with specifically only Sims 2 original content. The package installer will still not let me install her saying that it requires expansion pack data that I don't have.
It's been the same for other sims I've gotten elsewhere (once again only requiring original Sims 2). I'm starting to believe it might be a problem with the package installer for macs or something of the sort. If anyone has any additional info or tips that would be great!! That is not a Mac-specific problem, tinydancer114. That is a problem with the game's installer in general. Despite the fact that sims do not require expansion packs, regardless of what content is used on them, they cannot be installed on computers that do not have the same expansions as the creator installed. Even if someone makes a sim with all base game content, if they have EPs you don't, the installer will not let you proceed.
Unless someone creates a sims2pack installer for Macs, all you can really do is politely ask the creator if they could email you a copy of the files separate from the sims2pack. If they can just zip/rar you the files extracted from the sims2pack, those will work in your game. I have done so upon request for Mac users that want my sims but don't have all EPs like I do, and the files do work. This only works for sims (and pets, assuming you have Pets, of course), though. If you get that error with a house, it's not lying to you - you do actually need the EPs it wants you to have, and there's no way around that - even if you were able to use to install that house/lot, it would crash your game.
Archived from groups: alt.games.the-sims Lately, I've noticed that house/community/university lots I've downloaded from various websites (including MTS2, TSR and the official site) and then installed using Clean Installer (because that's what comes up as the default) are not appearing in the Bin. Last night I went back and installed them using the Maxis installer and there they were, ready to be used. Should Clean Installer be able to install lots or has something gone terribly wrong?
(I downloaded a replica of the Sims1 Goth house and put that in my neighbourhood last night, ready for Alexander and Meadow when they get married - it's an.exact. replica. Noticing that that one hadn't appeared was my first clue something was wrong.):-). Archived from groups: alt.games.the-sims This seems to be a bug with Clean Installer - especially if you have installed University. I'm not sure whether the programme has been updated to deal with the problem but it's worth a visit to the website to see if a later version of the programme you have is available. I only use CI to scan my Downloads folder now - I've stopped DL lots from the Exchange and elsewhere because of all the problems with extra content and hacks.
Anyway, it's worth checking the sites of these types of programmes to see if there are later versions - Clean Installer is up to version 1.5.1.2 and they're still fixing bugs. I'm not sure if it's still officially a beta programme but it's certainly still behaving like one. SimPE also releases new updates regularly as does the CEP. Archived from groups: alt.games.the-sims I also have had a problem downloading from the Official site. It says something like clicking twice on the file? I can download ok from other web sites tho.
I just reinstalled CI and haven't had time to check to see if the problem is resolved. I'm interested is seeing what others have experienced.
